Of course, I saw that movie. Vincent Hanna (Al Pacino) was not an associate of Neil McCauley (Robert De Niro). They did not have personal relation with each others, their relationship was straightly professional, one being a cop and the other career criminal, and they learned of each other through surveillance. Hanna's wife, not McCauley, cheated on him, so he moved to a hotel, separated from his wife. Hanna had no personal life, sort of speak, and his sole purpose was to catch McCauley. On the hand, McCauley a criminal, found his true love, and he had a life outside his career, and he was about to end his career, and picked up his other life. In the end, McCauley died,
