Economically, Texas is an exception. However, it is a predator state, a cannibal, thriving on stealing businesses from other states. Rich oil reserve also helps.

Blue states such as California, Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey, on the other hand, are places that original ideas and new businesses are formed. These are places that social changes are originated.

No surprise though. By definition, the very word "conservative (保守主义）" means holding on to ideas of the past. Conservatives believe that the best days are in the past. They are afraid of changes.
