When a = b(lnb-1), there is a unique solution x=b;
when a > b(lnb-1), no solution;
when a < b(lnb-1), two solutions, which can be solved by numerical iteration method.
a mathematican would say : I don't care about solution; I only care if there is a sloution.
That is why there are uniquness and existence theorems in math books
