◇◇新语丝(www.xys.org)(xys4.dxiong.com)(www.xinyusi.info)(xys2.dropin.org)◇◇   对杜克林《海归求职历程:大学求职经历及中山大学求职遭遇》的看法   作者:ttma   看了杜博士在新语丝的帖子。不免想说两句。   在google敲入kelin du,找到了杜博士的在康大的主页(见后文,及 http://users.encs.concordia.ca/~kldu/)。   杜博士也许在工程实际应用领域的确做了出色的工作,但是单就其目前的学 术情况来看,个人感觉其并不算突出。其journal publication只有4篇(截止到 09年),也并非通信领域中最权威的杂志IEEE Transactions on Communication/IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communication或者等同first rank杂志,哪怕是会议领域的paper也只是见到了02年的两篇ICC而已。其大力宣 扬的两个杂志的编委Member of Editorial Board of IET Signal Processing , Associate Editor of Circuits, Systems, & Signal Processing,也并非通信 领域的顶级杂志。并且其如何当上这两个刊物的编委也无从而知,请注意 Circuits, Systems, & Signal Processing 的主编M.N.S. Swamy (http://users.encs.concordia.ca/~swamy/,应该是杜博士在康大的合作者之 一,其本人做通信,电路系统领域的权威人物之一,曾任IEEE CAS的副主席 1976),有他的举荐估计做个编委应该不成问题,因而这也代表不了杜博士的真 实学术水平。值得注意的是杜博士的大作Neural Networks in a Softcomputing Framework,第二作者也是M.N.S. Swamy,而Swamy主要研究领域不是软计算,如 何成了这本书的第二作者,是个疑问。杜博士的大作Wireless Communication Systems: From RF Subsystems to 4G Enabling Technologies(第二作者仍然 是M.N.S. Swamy)如何顺利出版,在这中间M.N.S. Swamy起了什么作用,我想不 言而喻。   因而对比他所提出的各种求职要求,其碰壁也就不那么令人惊讶了。另外杜 博士强调的专利问题,既然杜博士在工程方面有如此建树,对他来说理想的工作 是去公司,多做实际应用也许是你发挥长才之所在,不过他的面试经历好像也不 是很顺利。   从杜博士的行文中看,透露了股股的傲气,好像认定自己学术水平极高,自 己被屈才了。并坚决不肯放弃加国国籍(既然要回国,为何不肯放弃加国国籍, 不免令人心生疑问)。我觉得杜博士如果真是才学兼备,那为什么年近不惑,在 加国连一个assistant professor都没有做到呢,为什么又不申请百人计划,而 只是要求一个普通教授呢?从杜博士的工作经历来看,其不过是到处做 Postdoctor或者research scientist而已。有过海外经历的人都知道,这无非就 是1年或者2年一签的临时工种而已。这种背景的人,在海外比比皆是。国内现在 的科研水平也没有杜博士想的那么差。   最后我觉得,杜博士将别人给他的私人通信这样公布在网上。这种做法是否 合适?是否征求过别人的同意。别人给你的意见是安慰性质的,还是真心替你抱 不平?   个人一点不成熟看法。也请杜博士海涵勿怪!   杜博士的学术发表情况   Publications   Book   [1] K.-L.
