　　为什么陈省身先生没听懂田刚教授的报告？

　　以前读过一篇报道，说陈老没能听懂田刚教授在2002年北京国际数学家大会
上作的一小时大会报告。当时的感觉是陈老很伟大，不懂就不懂，决不装懂；田
刚更伟大，连师爷都听不懂他的了，可见水平之高。

　　今天在网上偶见一家评论，方知原来如此：

　　The absolute worst talk (once again, expositorily speaking) was by 
Gang Tian. Here there was no room at all for productive day-dreaming. 
Tian's talk was extremely technical, very dry, and the transparencies 
were typed with small font, that probably made it hard to follow even 
for the ten or whatever experts in the audience.

报告极其专业，非常枯燥无味，而且投影材料是用小字体打的，这可能让观众中
的十名左右的专家也难以听明白。）
